Cane Chair Inspiration.

This post is to inspire me. It's selfish Friday I suppose. I purchased a cane chair two weeks ago at a yard sale {read about that here}. Now I just need to figure out what the heck to do with it. Here is mine....And here are a few that I would love for mine to look like. Love this first one. Love the fabric and the fact that it is painted white. This one is similar to mine in that it does not have fabric or backing on the back of the chair. Therefore, I will only have to recover the seat. That should be pretty easy.Mandy at Vintage Revivals re-did this one and I overall just love how fun it is. Not sure this is the look I am going for with mine though. This one is so fun and retro. Again, love the crisp white.
Now I just need to get started on mine! Inspiration pictures from here, here, here and here.

Bookshelf Styling

Problem: This bookshelf....Why doesn't it look like this....Or this...with all those pretty books and cool faux antlers. I'd even take those blue ceramic bears....And then there is this one....my absolute favorite. The color scheme is amazing in itself. But the way that it is styled is oh so flyyy. I just adore it. I specifically love the random styling of photo frames incorporated in with the books...I'm going to attempt to achieve the same look with Ribba frames from Ikea. I can only dream that it will look half as beautiful as this....Inspiration pics found via Pinterest here, here and here.

Genius...

Is what this is. Mine and Tal's sweet friend helped make over his 15 year old sister's bedroom. They came up with such a great and inexpensive idea for her desk I had to share....

Yep, that's just a piece of glass but what a great idea! Instead of investing in furniture that she might not have liked in a few years they had glass cut and anchored to the wall for her desk. I'll say it again...genius. I think this would be so cute as an entry way table {you can order really pretty brackets on the Internet}. So proud of them for creating something so wonderful and unique! And don't you love that wall color? So fun! What about those cork boards? Love.

Living Room Dreaming...

Since our living room is the only thing on my mind {Talon told me to focus on one room - I took it to heart and now I am obsessed} I thought I would let you in on my sweet little dreams. First up, paint, I think we've decided on Olympics Dusty Trail. I googled it and found that Katie Bower from Bower Power used it all over her house. I was SOLD. I'm going to tackle the paint this weekend. It's a huge room. So that should be NO-fun. It's actually so big it serves as a living room/dining room. Which will make the later part of this post make more sense.A big ol' rug is also on the to-get list. I want a big soft and comfy wool one. I'm to scared to go with any crazy pattern since rugs are darnet expensive. What's up with that by the way??? I'm thinking about going with something like this....Then there is fabric for curtains, pillows, etc. Kill me now. So many to choose from. We've found a few we love.... And you know how I mentioned earlier that our living room also serves as a dining room. That means more space to fill up:) So, we need a table. I've been pinning big farm tableesque photos like crazy...
So, there you have it a little glimpse in to my craziness. If only I could make it all work with our budget we would be good to go.

Kitchen Table Inspiration

I mentioned earlier this week that we got a new kitchen table. Check it out here. Here's what we are using as inspiration....LOVE LOVE LOVE the dark top. I wish we could just paint the bottom of ours white and be done -- but since our house came with glazed cabinets that are off whiteish not so sure that would look to hot. Therefore, we ruled out white and decided to go with a very bright color. The one above is a fun solid color -- I like it but I'm pretty sure we are sold on staining the top dark. The one above is from Pier 1 -- I walked into the store one day and ever since then I knew I wanted to sell our glass top table we had and get one similar to the above. We are still unsure about what to do with the chairs. Here are the ones from Pier 1 that go with the table....And here are ours....We shall see what happens. We do know that we will be using Lucky Shamrock by Glidden for the bottom of the table...
Crazy fun right?!?!?

My Love for Chevron

No, not the gas station. The pattern. I've become obsessed. Along with everybody else apparently. I'm seeing it everywhere....LOVE these painted canvases.

These floors are gorgeous. Pretty sure I would not have the patience to do that but god it's beautiful. Painted furniture...I might could handle that. I've seen several blog post where very talented ladies are painting cheap drapes with the chevron pattern. What a great idea. I think this is my most favorite...painting the pattern on an entire wall.I'm dying to try my hand at it. We desperately need wall art so I think I will try my Chevron Pattern on a canvas. I've found several tutorials on line...looks tricky but maybe I can figure it out. P.S. So sorry I didn't save the sources for these photos.

What To Put Where...

Since our mini kitchen re do this past weekend {more about that later this week - you can see a sneak peek here} I've been struggling with what to put on our counters. We do not have a TON of counter space so it's been tricky. We also utilize a toaster, coffee maker and blender on a daily basis. I'm totally down with taking out these appliances when utilizing -- Talon not so much. So, they have to stay. Here are some pictures I've gathered that I am loving.... Jones Design Company has this breakfast station that I think is so cute. We eat bagels and grits everyday...so I do not think a breakfast station is necessary or practical but I love the idea of the canisters. I'm sure I could find something to fill them up with. Isn't this the cutest utensil holder? I've also seen people use plant pots to hold their utensils. I think it's adorable. I'm sure I could find something to work that would be out of the norm to do the job. I would also LOVE this Silver Kitchen Aid mixer. Pretty sure this one gets eliminated due to budget. However, we can still dream. Right? Somebody help me out....what is this thing called?? I want one and I love that this one holds green apples. I'm sure that all of these items will not make there way to our counters...I prefer a cleaner space but I do love them all! I hope everyone is having a great week!
