Spice Girls Anyone? Know who is better than the Spice Girls, Alton Brown host of the show Good Eats. I actually hate the show but Talon LOVES it. And I love the fact that after Talon watches the show he cooks uber delicious meals like this Shrimp and Grits recipe. O.M.G. Heaven in your mouth good. Therefore, we love Alton Brown. There has been a lot more cooking action in the kitchen at our house lately. We've always cooked at home...the recipes are just starting to get a little more difficult. I've found all these great recipes on Pinterest that I've been trying {see my food board here} and Talon's recent love for the show Good Eats and ol' Alton himself our spices were taking over our kitchen. So, this past Sunday Talon remedied the problem by building a giant spice storage rack on the back of our pantry door. I do not know all the dirty details of how he did it. I do know he went to Home Depot and about 8 hours later we had storage for all of our spices. Hoo-Rah. Here's a ton of pictures to help give you the idea of how it was done....The height of each shelf was determined by spices, vinegars, etc that we already had...Wooden dowels were used to keep the goodies from falling off of the shelf... Little helper...Filling nail holes to get ready to sand...Then a few coats of white paint to finish it off...TA-DA....It's so functional and has emptied up a ton of cabinet space. The shelves are bigger on the bottom for taller items...
Good job Tal! So happy to have a place to store all those spices and that they are all easy to see and grab when Talon's making me super scrumptious meals:)
