Hang Son Doong Cave - World Biggest Cave in Vietnam

The Hang Son Doong Cave is located in Qung Binhprovince near Laos-Vietnam border Vietnam. It was discovered in 2009 by a team of 13 British cavers. The Hang Son Doong means "mountain river cave". It is the largest cave in the world. The Son Doong Cave is more than 200 meters (656 ft) wide, 150 meters (492 ft) high and at least 6.5km long. It wascreated 2 to 5 million years ago by river water eroding away the limestone underneath the mountain where the limestone was weak. The cave has a large fast-flowing underground river inside. The mouth of the Hang Son Doong cave was first discoveres by a local, Hokhanh in 1991.
